About
Welcome to Frydays Fish Bar Ltd, a gem nestled in the heart of London at 3 Salcombe Gardens, NW7 2NU. This family-run establishment has quickly become a beloved destination for those craving a true taste of Britain with its delightful fish and chips.
Frydays is not just another chippy; it has earned its stripes through consistently delivering quality. Customers rave about its generous portions—like the large cod and chips reviewed by Marwan Boustany. You can expect a good-sized fish encased in a light, delicately flavored batter that’s a far cry from the thick, stodgy varieties that plague other establishments. While Marwan noted a slight overcooking of his fish, he was still impressed by the overall experience, giving it a commendable 4.5 stars when considering Frydays relative to its competitors.
Families flock to Frydays for its filling meals and friendly atmosphere. According to Seb Prentice, for just £13.50, you can share a massive portion, making it excellent for families or anyone with a big appetite. The quality of the fish shines through, as Adrian Reuben points out, highlighting generous portions of haddock fried to perfection in vegetable oil. Each bite becomes a feast for both the eyes and the palate, appreciated for its cleanliness and freshness.
And it doesn't stop at fish! Customers have also praised the quality of the chips, noting their flavor and combination with salt and vinegar. While some reviews mention they could be crispier, they complement the meal perfectly, enhancing the overall experience.
Whether you're dining in or taking away, Frydays Fish Bar Ltd excels in quality, freshness, and service. Even the calamari gets a nod, prepared to perfection as enjoyed by Peiris Asoka. If you're in the area and looking for a beloved local spot serving up the best fish and chips, Frydays Fish Bar is an excellent choice. Swing by and indulge in a meal that promises satisfaction with each bite!
“ This is a great fish & chips option. I had Cod and chips for takeaway. In my review I factor in price and competition in my scoring, this has made me raise my scoring higher than if I just reviewed this place just on its own merits. Good size fish with a light and delicately flavoured batter. No thick stodgy batter here, this really is about as good as you will get from a chip shop. My fish was a bit overcooked (texture was decent but it was not moist), but it was still in good condition and a decent eat. So I would give this 4 stars based on that. The chips are average quality fish chop chips. They could do with being a bit more crispy on the outside, however, it was a take away with salt and vinegar, and this needs to be factored in. I did enjoy the chips as part of the meal. I would give these a3 stars due to average status. So the whole meal I would give 3.5/4 stars. But if I factor in the overall performance relative to the competition, I would put it at about 4.5 stars. This leads to my 5 star review. ”
“ Family run, best fish and chips in the area. 13.50 for a large fish and chips. And I mean large, could have split it into 2 meals. Fresh fish. Delicious ”

“ Had my first taste experience last Friday and I have to say it is the best I have had in London ever!!! The staff are both professional and welcoming and seem happy to work there which is rare these days. The food warrants it's price which again is rare. I will be a regular from now on despite my waistline ”
“ Frydays is hands down the BEST fish and chips shop around! The fish is perfectly fresh, golden, and flaky, while the chips are crispy outside, fluffy inside—absolutely divine. Generous portions, friendly service, and an unbeatable experience every time. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. Frydays is fish and chips heaven! ”
